 European day of the languages

EUROPEAN DAY OF THE LANGUAGES

 Last October 26th, it was the European day of the languages. For this reason, we asked our students to prepare some posters with emojis and sayings or tongue twisters in different languages. Most of them were in English but there were also examples of many other languages which are represented in our school.

We had a good time  reading some tongue twisters. You can see it in the video which is uploaded.

BACK AGAIN

 We are back again. After our well-deserved summer holidays, a new academic year has just started. This time we are back to normal life and this is a relief for all of us. We are very excited about it!!!

             INTERNATIONAL WOMEN´S DAY AT NORBA

Last  March 8th, It was the international women´s day. Our students did some  projects about important women, who were famous in  different fields. The exhibition was named: GREAT WOMEN, and it was displayed in the entrance hall of our school. These are some pictures about it:

We´d like to upload this beautiful poem written by Nikita Gill to celebrate the international women´s day at Norba: 

          The Women I Know

I call them: my sisters, goddesses and the moon.

I tell them they glow more radiant

with each passing spring and monsoon.

 

We have loved each other through the pain,

through the forests of crueller hearts

and refused to tear each other apart,

 

even though we were all taught in subtle ways

from an early age

to hate one another.

 

We defy it by naming each other holy.

Defend one another with a primal fury.

Tell ourselves, our daughters and our mothers,

 

together we will write better

stories to tell. Oceans to love.

                                               CHRISTMAS TREE

The teachers of the English Department wanted to wish everybody Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with a Christmas tree made with the shape of hands on which students wrote their wishes for the New Year and a video about all the activities:

Last December, we had some activities about Christmas in our school. Our students decorated the doors of their classrooms with Christmas themes and they also made Christmas cards. We had an exhibition of all these Christmas cards at the entrance of the school, and chose the best to send them to  Residencia La Asistida in Cáceres to wish the people who are living there a very Merry Christmas. One more year, the school gets ready to celebrate Halloween, Our students have prepared a terrific decoration for this date, so our school dresses up for Halloween... You can watch the result or these activities in this video.

         PHYSICAL EDUCATION: VOLLEYBALL WARMING

Related to Music, teacher Alicia Jiménez and her students from 2ºeso A and 2ºeso B have prepared some interesting videos about healthy life using Rap to give healthy tips. Here is the result.
