THE IDEAL TEACHER

Does the perfect teacher exist or is it science fiction?
On October, 5th we celebrate the World Teachers' Day.
What do you think makes a good teacher?
Do you have good memories of your teachers? Share them with us. Leave your comments.
“Take a stand for teachers!” is the slogan of World Teachers’ Day 2012 (5 October)
Taking a stand for the teaching profession means providing adequate training, ongoing professional development, and protection for teachers’ rights.
All over the world, a quality education offers hope and the promise of a better standard of living. However, there can be no quality education without competent and motivated teachers.
On this day, we call for teachers to receive supportive environments, adequate quality training as well as ‘safeguards’ for teachers’ rights and responsibilities...We expect a lot from teachers – they, in turn, are right to expect as much from us. This World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity for all to take a stand
       Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director-General
Teachers are among the many factors that keep children in school and influence learning. They help students think critically, process information from several sources, work cooperatively, tackle problems and make informed choices.
Why take a stand for teachers? Because the profession is losing status in many parts of the world.. World Teachers’ Day calls attention the need to raise the status of the profession - not only for the benefit of teachers and students, but for society as a whole, to acknowledge the crucial role teachers play in building the future.

However, a good teacher for me would be a person who is funny. And whose classes are entertaining. In which a teacher who doesn´t ask as to do homeworks. We could watch films, listen to music and learn at the same time.
Finally I wouldn´t like to take an exam.

  5. As well as the normal qualities we look for in a teacher such as patience and kindness, I think that the perfect teacher needs to be someone who truly enjoys the subjects that they teach. Their enthusiasm for their job is very important because it reflects in their students work and can help to motivate a class. The best teachers are the ones that use different styles of teaching, mixing the boring stuff with more fun activities so it's easier to learn. In my opinion, these two abilities separate the good teachers from the great ones!

First I'm going to tell you my opinion about what a good teacher has to do, then I'm gonna tell you my good memories about my primary school teachers and finally I'll tell you how my ideal teacher will be.

I think that a good teacher, mainly has to teach, because if He (or She) doesn't, they are not good teachers.
Well, in my primary school I had a lot of good teachers, but just two were my favourites.
One of them was Nieves. She taught us almost every subject, except english, religion and music. My other favorite teacher was Don Angel. He was our english teacher. I remember him perfectly because He was a very good teacher and He kept repeating this phrase: "Espabila Fabila, que te va a comer un oso."
Finally, I'll talk about my ideal teacher. Well, I think that the ideal teacher will be a nice and polite person but He (or She) should be the same teacher for every subject or every teacher for every subject should have the same personality.
    And that's all.

  74. A perfect teacher? doesn't exist, but there is always a good teacher in a school. For me, a good teacher is a teacher that hardly ever set homework to do at home. This teacher does few exams and they are easy. He or she explains very well. He or she is friendly, honest, cheerful... Their mission is only teach us, without asking themselves what type of student you are, if you are a good or bad person.
One of my best teacher was Juani, she was my teacher in 1st and 2nd course at primary school. She taught me that learning is a very beautiful thing. She made a good group in the class and nowadays we still are friends. She gave great value to friendship. I think that she probably would be a perfect teacher, but as all the teachers, she had a problem, she shouted a few. When she was angry, she used to call us “melones”. Anyway I have fond memories of her. I lover her.

  75. In my opinion the ideal teacher should be friendly, polite, amusing, patient and a good person.
He doesn't put many homeworks, he helps us when we need it, he explain very well and he doesn't put many exams.
Sometimes he leaves us free time in class and he puts us some video to explain something we don't understand.

He doesn't make exams and he should make fun classes without lots of exercices and copies. He would like that his students have good marks. I have great memories of some of my school teachers (specially in the first grades) and of my Primary School in generally.
